QUINN MAKES IT 3 !

27th July 2013

Alex QuinnBuckmore Park and the 5th round of the LGM series, Alex Quinn stunned the onlookers by yet another win !. Tyler Chesterton, the leading privateer driver managed to beat everyone in the heats and score his first pole position of the season, with local boy Kiern Jewiss making the top 3. Quinn took the early lead from the outside of the front row with a great start, but it was short lived as Chesterton returned to the front by the start of lap 2. Oliver York found himself up in to second place, but Jewiss had other ideas and wanted to get to the front and did so by lap 3, Quinn followed through then passed Jewiss back to take command with Chesterton in pursuit. These three found themselves breaking away from the next group headed by York, Jonny Edgar & Zac Robertson. Behind them Herbie Grout, Sean Butcher, Ethan Hawkey, William Pettitt, Mario Mills, Tom Wood, before quite a large gap to the rest of the field. The laps ticked by with not too much change until the last lap where as usual, it kicked off. Chesterton went for the pass on Quinn into the hairpin but couldn’t make it stick, but so close was the racing, Jewiss ran up the back of Chesterton delaying the pair and leaving Quinn with the advantage. The fastest man Herbie Grout managed a last lap manoeuvre to elevate himself up to 4th place, with a disastrous last lap for Edgar who had been running well in 5th, he was pushed down to 12th overall. Pettitt also made use of the incident finishing a creditable 5th. At the flag, Alex Quinn crossed first to take yet another win, 3 out 5 is not a bad record to have, with privateer pole man Chesterton a superb 2nd, and Jewiss 3rd. The result was held, due to Scruttineering checks, but is now confirmed with the result as finished. With his 3 wins, Quinn moves back to 2nd in the standings, but its the consistence York who still tops the table. The awards for Buckmore Park will be given out at Shenington on the Saturday evening of the next round.
