Jonny Edgar takes the victory of round 2 at Larkhall. The unbroken Scottish sunshine, all weekend made the races seem even better and after the six heats, there were five different makes of chassis taking a win each, Syergy, ZIP, RK, Tony, Shark, showing that the newly homologated IAME cadet karts are very close in performance. But after the heats it was Fusion driver, Edgar who came out on top with pole position for the final. The race eventually got underway after a delay from the ‘B’ final, with the karts of Edgar, Dexter Patterson, Teddy Wilson soon breaking clear of the pack, these 3 did not waste any time making it very hard for the chasing pack to catch.
Aim Motorsports, Tom Wood, Joe Turney, Zac Robertso n, Kiern Jewiss, Owen Byatt and Fin Kenneally were not wanting to work and swapped many places between themselves. Top privateer, Ben Wooldridge on the Shark, had an excellent drive making his way up to 10th place. Local lad, Patterson took the lead and led most of the race, but with 2 laps to go, Wilson pulled the pin and went passed Edgar & Patterson, also taking Edgar through. Edgar had non of this and found a way around Wilson, with Patterson following back through. At the line, Edgar took the flag a kart length ahead of Patterson and Wilson, with Wood coming in 4th. Wilson still heads the table as we move on to GYG in wales.
IMPORTANT– Information for all competitors. The 2nd round of the LGM series at Larkhall will be using a nominated petrol station the details are as follows:-

Teddy Wilson leads the way after the first round of the 2014 LGM series at P.F. International. Nearly 70 drivers competed, with over 8 drivers taking the flag within just over a second, the race was epic and one of the finest cadet duels in resent times. The grandstand was bursting with spectators, a 15 lap race with ever changing leaders, no one could have predicted who would win. Kiern Jewiss got to the lead at one point coming from his grid 15 slot, Tom Wood, Lewis Thompson, Joe Turney and Jonny Edgar also lead, but with Jewiss dropping out, it was Teddy Wilson’s day, just crossing the line ahead of Wood and pole sitting Dexter Patterson who fell away at the start, but being ‘on form’ came back to a strong 3rd place. Top privateer Clayton Ravenscroft came in 24th overall with Toby Stevenson 29th. The next round is in only 2 weeks time, the teams and drivers will be making their way to the Scottish circuit of Larkhall. Could Patterson be the next victor being at his home track !
One of the Championship favourites Kiern Jewiss had his dreams dashed at the opening round with a rare engine seizure. After losing his rear bumper in the 3rd heat, Jewiss had to climb from his grid 15 position, which he did, only to pull clear and lead the race on lap 13 of 15. Whilst in the lead, his engine sized at the end of the straight putting the Nextgen driver on the side line.
