NEW CHAMPIONS ARE CROWNED

3rd October 2017

With changing conditions, the last round of the 2017 LGM series did not disapoint at PF International. The new X30 Senior champion is Mark Litchfield, in the X30 Junior class is Harry Thompson, Iame Cadet Taylor Barnard and in the Mini X tour Georgi Dimitrov. However non of the champion drivers were able to win at the last round. In X30 senior Oliver Hodgson took the flag only to find he had a nose penualty leaving Archie Tillett to take his maiden win in the LGM, with Owen Byatt a great second, the newly crowned World kart champion Danny Keirle was lying in second place only to have a rare spark plug failure, causing him to retire. The Junior race was a titanic battle with eventual winner Morgan Porter taking his second win of the year having dropped to 10th earlier in the race, Louie Westover followed him home. The Iame Cadet was a two horse afair with Taylor Barnard dominating at the front with Coskun Irfan for company. Irfan made a move and lead part of the race, but Barnard was leading up to the line defending his lead only to find Irfan went around the outside at the finish ahead by a mere 0.03. Probably the best race of the day was the Mini X tour. Georgi Dimitrov, Joseph Taylor and Kai Askey changed places so many times we all lost count. The eventual winner being Askey who drove it home to take the win. A full race report will feature in next months Rivista magazine,

NEARLY ALL CHANGES FOR BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY.

30th August 2017

Round 7 was back to heats and the racing proved to be a closer affair. No change in Iame cadet and its 7 out of 7 for Taylor Barnard, this time he was pushed hard by Luke Watts who looked to have the pace but never made the challenge. X30 Mini was a titanic battle but a couple of nose penulties resulted in the order changing. Kai Askey had his first win of the year and won on track with team mate Georgi Dimitrov finishing 2nd. The whole day then changed, as the usual Rowrah weather suddenly turned into a very heavy down pour. First out were the X30 Juniors, all with no wetsuits on, a determined pole sitter Louie Westover went on to win and show Harry Thompson he was beatable in X30 junior class, certainly in these very wet conditions. X30 Senior saw Mark Litchfield pull out a huge lead from his team mate Hodgson, only to find the local lad Josh Skelton to come along and sort both the PF drivers out and take his maiden LGM victory.

ALL THE SAME AT THE TOP

With timed practice the order of the day, Round 6 saw little changes in the winners of each class. Cadet Iame, Taylor Barnard remains unbeaten and won yet another in front of his team mate Freddie Slater. X30 Mini saw the two top men battle it out with Joesph Taylor taking his 3rd win of the year followed by Georgi Dimitrov 2nd. On to X30 Junior and the unstoppable Harry Thompson won once more with no practice and turning up the in the morning fresh from Shenington, Tyler Chesterton drove well to finish a great 2nd. The senior battle saw once more Mark Litchfield take yet another win this year, with the man on form Oliver Hodgson just not having an answer today.
