THOMPSON AT HIS BEST

19th May 2016

Harry ThompsonHarry Thompson started this year like his last, in winning the first two rounds of the LGM series.  The top six drivers consisting of Thompson, Jonny Wilkinson, Bray Kenneally, Taylor Barnard, Zac O’Sullivan & Alicla Barrett broke away early to have a clear gap from the rest. Soon their gap was disappearing again as they fought with one another to take command of the lead slowing the group up. Back in 7th & 8th Georgi Dimitrov and Joshua Rattican worked together to close up, slowly bring the rest behind back in to play. By lap 9 they had caught them, but with now so many drivers they tangled into the last corner, with Barrett and O’Sullivan dropping down the order. Thompson regained the lead and now pushed away by Wilkinson leaving them clear of the rest. On the last lap Wilkinson was no match for Thompson’s defending and drove to yet another LGM victory with Wilkinson a strong 2nd, Barnard 3rd and Kenneally 4th, Dimitrov, Draper 5th & 6th respectivly. Unfortunately Kenneally recieved a 10 place penualty after the event, holding the presentation until GYG.

Harry Thompson started his LGM series with a superb win in round one at the P.F International circuit. Thompson from grid 4 was delayed a little at the start having to catch the very fast pole sitter Taylor Barnard but once there, pushed Barnard away clear from anyone else. Near the close Thompson used his experience at out maneuvered Barnard, defending to the end, these two being some 4 1/2 seconds ahead of anyone else. Jonny Wilkinson droved his best ever race to finished a highly rated 3rd place, Joseph Taylor was the fastest man on the track and moved up 11 places, with Bray Kenneally & Georgi Dimitrov finishing 5th & 6th respectivly.  Top privateer was Rashan Chigorimbo in 12th overall.
