THOMPSON MAKES IT 3 DIFFERENT WINNERS

12th May 2014

Lewis ThompsonRound 3 of the LGM series at Glan-y-gors park saw yet another winner in the face of Lewis Thompson, after appalling condition, with heavy rain and wind in the welsh hills, Thompson qualified well, but pole position sitter Zach Robertson took the early lead with Teddy Wilson, Tom Wood & Kiern Jewiss all getting in on the action. Last round winner Jonny Edgar had a coming together at the start putting him last in the running. Joe Turney & Alex McDade were the best of rest as the first 5 pulled clear. With the GYG circuit draining the water very quickly, the track was starting to dry before even more rain came down. Wilson now in the lead, with Jewiss and Wood working together to catch him, Thompson was just minding his own business in 4th. Robertson at this point had dropped off the back of the first four. Wood past Wilson, but also Thompson past Jewiss and Wilson, only Wood was to stop Thompson having his first win the season. Lewis ThompsonThompson made his move on the second to the last lap, with Wilson following through. Wood tried desperately to get back in doing so slowed the pairing, allow Thompson to pull a couple of kart lengths ahead. Thompson with both hands in the air took the victory followed by Wilson, Wood & Jewiss. Edgar from starting last finish a creditable 9th. In the privateers cup, Ben Wooldridge was the star of the show with a superb 8th place overall in the main final, Clayton Ravenscroft was 2nd and Daniel Butterworth 3rd in the category.

Jonny Edgar takes the victory

21st April 2014

Jonny Edgar takes the victory of round 2 at Larkhall. The unbroken Scottish sunshine, all weekend made the races seem even better and after the six heats, there were five different makes of chassis taking a win each, Syergy, ZIP, RK, Tony, Shark, showing that the newly homologated IAME cadet karts are very close in performance. But after the heats it was Fusion driver, Edgar who came out on top with pole position for the final. The race eventually got underway after a delay from the ‘B’ final, with the karts of Edgar, Dexter Patterson, Teddy Wilson soon breaking clear of the pack, these 3 did not waste any time making it very hard for the chasing pack to catch.

LARKHALL WINNERS2

LARKHALL, 2nd PATTERSON, 1st EDGAR, 3rd WILSON

Aim Motorsports, Tom Wood, Joe Turney, Zac Robertso n, Kiern Jewiss, Owen Byatt and Fin Kenneally were not wanting to work and swapped many places between themselves. Top privateer, Ben Wooldridge on the Shark, had an excellent drive making his way up to 10th place. Local lad, Patterson took the lead and led most of the race, but with 2 laps to go, Wilson pulled the pin and went passed Edgar & Patterson, also taking Edgar through. Edgar had non of this and found a way around Wilson, with Patterson following back through. At the line, Edgar took the flag a kart length ahead of Patterson and Wilson, with Wood coming in 4th. Wilson still heads the table as we move on to GYG in wales.
