Over 170 drivers are now registered for the 2021 LGM series. The new driver list can be found at the top of this page under ‘DRIVERS’. With plans already underway, it is hoped at the first PFI rounds 1 & 2 the format for the X30 will be TQ, heats and a final on the Sunday. Where as round 2 Monday, will run the famous 3 random heats and a Final. With the large grids expected, an ‘A’ and ‘B’ final will be in use for near all classes.
We are sorry to inform competitors that we have taken the decision of cancelling round 3 of this years LGM series. The Championship will now currently be over 6 rounds with 5 to count. With the Welsh govenment not allowing more than 30 people to converge in one place in the month of May, it will make it difficult for the GYG round happen. However, we also regret that due to diabolical planning by the governing body, the MUK has just decided to put its ’round 1 MUK IAME’ on the same weekend at Shenington. This did not leave us an option to find another circuit for that weekend and we apologies about changing our calendar at this late stage. As the LGM falls under the ‘MUK’ umbrella and you would have hoped that better planning would have taken place.
After the cancellation of 2020 series, it is hoped that the new year brings some normality and with that we have decided to released the new 2021 LGM dates. Nearly 85% of registered 2020 drivers have chosen to keep their entry and move it to next years premier IAME UK series. The later in year start date sees it kick off with a bank holiday ‘double header’ race weekend at PF International with Sunday and Monday counting as 2 rounds. It also sees a welcome return to the Warden Law circuit later in the year. We are still keeping to the lower cost format of 1 set of tyres and no weekday testing before the events. New 2021 entry forms will be available online shortly for thoses not already registered together with a new 2021 driver entry list.
With a near record entry for 2020 LGM series in all IAME classes, it comes with much regret that we will be cancelling this years series. We were looking to run a year end ‘mini series’ with the remaining rounds, but with so many logistical problems, social distance and limiting numbers, it would make the championship messy, confusing and not value for money which is always what we strive to offer. So the decision is made to abort this year and put our effort into next years calendar. If you are registered for the 2020 series, even if you need to change classes, we will carry the entry over to the 2021 series where a new set of races will be produced. We do however understand if you do not wish to take part next years championship or your cercumstances have changed, that a full refund will be given. Thank you for your patience in this difficult year and look forward to seeing you back on track very soon.
